# Forwarding Calls to a Righthand

> Route selected incoming calls to a Righthand's phone number

You can use your mobile carrier's call-forwarding service to send selected incoming calls to a Righthand. Forwarding behavior, supported conditions, activation codes, and fees are controlled by your carrier—not by Righthand.

## Before you begin

* Open the Righthand's profile and copy the Righthand's phone number.
* Decide whether to forward all calls or only calls that are unanswered, busy, or unreachable.
* Review your carrier's current call-forwarding instructions and charges.

<Warning>
  Do not use forwarding codes copied from an old guide. Carrier codes vary by carrier, plan, country, and device, and they can change. Use your carrier's current official instructions.
</Warning>

## Set up forwarding

<Steps>
  <Step title="Find your carrier's instructions">
    Search your carrier's support site for **call forwarding** or **conditional call forwarding**. Conditional forwarding is the usual choice when you still want your phone to ring first.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Choose the conditions">
    Follow the carrier's instructions for the conditions you want, such as no answer, busy, or unreachable.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Enter the Righthand's number">
    Use the full Righthand phone number, including country code when the carrier requires it.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Confirm activation">
    Wait for the carrier's confirmation message or use its status check. Do not assume the setting was accepted merely because the call ended.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Test from another number">
    Place a test call that matches the chosen condition. Confirm that the Righthand answers and that the call appears in the Righthand's **Activity**.
  </Step>
</Steps>

## Troubleshooting

<AccordionGroup>
  <Accordion title="Calls go to carrier voicemail instead">
    Carrier voicemail or device features such as Live Voicemail may answer before the forwarding condition triggers. Compare the voicemail delay with the forwarding delay and follow your carrier's instructions for adjusting them.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Every call forwards immediately">
    Unconditional forwarding may be enabled. Disable it using your carrier's instructions, then configure only the conditional forwarding states you want.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="The Righthand does not answer">
    Call the Righthand's number directly. If the direct call works, recheck the carrier destination and forwarding status. If it does not, contact Righthand support.
  </Accordion>
</AccordionGroup>

## Turn forwarding off

Use your carrier's official deactivation instructions, then test your number from another phone. Removing or retiring the Righthand does not automatically change settings on your carrier account.

<Info>
  Righthand support can help verify the Righthand number, but only your carrier can change forwarding on your phone line.
